Cardio Kickboxing is a fusion of boxing, martial arts and aerobics. Each class is one hour long and no two classes are ever the same. Offering an intense cross-training and total-body workout it will utilize the training routines used by combat athletes in martial arts, boxing and kickboxing. The goal is to not make a "fighter" out of you, but rather to give you a holistic, total-body training program that combines an aerobic workout with the movements and techniques of martial arts. However, learning basic self-defense skills at the same time is an added benefit.
In addition, there are strength training benefits because you are punching or kicking the heavy bags and striking pads. Note, there is no physical contact as in sparring. The program provides benefits to children, as well. Cardio kickboxing is offered as a fun and functional alternative to conventional aerobics training for all fitness levels from children age 5 and up who want a great workout with equally great results. (Children’s classes offered 3 days a week)
The use of high-energy music adds to your stimulation and motivation. There are numerous techniques you can learn beyond the basics to maintain your interest level. Classes go fast because there is so much going on and so much to learn. Every Friday at 4:30 our kickboxing class will be combined with Flexibility Yoga which will help you to further succeed in this program.
